The Beerenberg Family Farm

The Beerenberg sauce and jam collection has been a family favourite for years. So when Alexandra told me they had an open to the public farm with a cafe attached we had to visit the historic town of Hahndorf whilst in Adelaide.

Rob had a classic ham and cheese croissant and Alexandra had a pulled pork cornish pastie which was a special for the week.

Croissant was beautifully flakey and the cornish was crusty with a thick outter layer pastry. The pulled pork had been marinated in the Beerenberg slow-cook marinade and was accompanied by a very cute jar of the Beerenberg tomato sauce

The choccie milkshake is what bumps up this score to a 5. Heaps of house made ice cream. Fresh cream sprinkled with freeze dried strawberries that are grown on the farm sprinkled on top. Absolutely delicious.

We made sure to stock up on a heap of sauces, marinades and jams before leaving the farm as they were much cheaper than what we can buy them for here in Victoria. A much bigger selection of products also! We made sure to bring home so freeze dried strawberries covered in chocolate as a snack for the road home.
