MW Yering Backswamp Bat Activity Survey

EcoAerial was engaged by Melbourne Water to undertake a microbat survey at the Yering Backswamp. The monitoring entailed the deployment of five bat detectors over a period of 10-weeks (November 2020 ~ January 2021).

Melbourne Water Reservoir Bat Surveys

EcoAerial was engaged by Melbourne Water to undertake microbat surveys at four Melbourne Water reservoir reserves; Sugarloaf, Running Creek, Yan Yean, Toorourrong and, land owned by Melbourne Water outside of the reservoir network.

Bat Detector Deployment at Ferguson Wind Farm

The Ferguson Wind Farm is in south-west Victoria and consists of three turbines, each with a maximum tip height of 200 metres and a minimum Rotor Swept Area (RSA) height of 64 metres.

Spatial data

EcoAerial was engaged to undertake aerial mapping of 100ha of vegetation at decommissioned salt ponds near Geelong Victoria. As part of the approval process we were required to consult with CASA and AirServices Australia prior to undertaking the flights.

Current Research

Whilst presenting at the International EcoAcoustics conference earlier this year, we learnt of new sound recording equipment that has the potential to revolutionise how we undertake acoustic surveys.
