A successful night in the Gobur Goldfields Mineshaft
6 Eastern Horseshoe Bats were sighted amongst the mineshaft. Whilst it was 24 less than what we saw 4 years prior, it is still great to see that the bats are inhabiting this space.
Rob’s talk was a 101 on microbat ecology and included facts such as; there is no such thing as a blind bat, why bats can hang upside down when they sleep and how bats use echolocation.
With a great reception from the local community and landcare group as well as the event featuring in the local newspaper, we look forward to collaborating more with the team in Gobur.
